Rink Rebels · Our shared expectations

Player Code of Conduct

Every player helps make hockey a place where teammates feel safe, included and proud to belong.

Respect the people around you

  • Treat teammates, opponents, coaches, officials and rink staff with respect.
  • Use encouraging language. Bullying, discriminatory comments, harassment and threats have no place in our hockey community.
  • Welcome players of different backgrounds, abilities and experience levels. Help others feel included.

Compete with sportsmanship

  • Play by the rules and follow coaches’ and officials’ directions.
  • Give your best effort, celebrate fairly and handle disappointment without blaming or insulting others.
  • Avoid dangerous play, fighting and retaliation. Step away and ask a coach for help when emotions run high.

Look after yourself and your team

  • Tell a coach or trusted adult if you are hurt, feel unwell or feel unsafe. Do not hide an injury to stay in a game.
  • Use equipment responsibly and respect changing rooms, facilities and other people’s belongings.
  • Be ready for activities and let a coach know when you cannot attend.

Carry respect beyond the rink

  • Keep team chats and social media respectful. Do not share embarrassing, private or hurtful content about others.
  • Never take or share photos or videos in changing rooms or other private spaces.
  • Speak to a trusted adult if you experience or witness behaviour that makes you uncomfortable.
